Kirk Sheppard is an internationally published tattoo artist and an accomplished fine artist, working in watercolour, ink, acrylics, coloured pencils & chalk. His fine art is heavily influenced by traditional tattoo imagery (both western and eastern), as well as lowbrow and pin-up art from the 1940s onward. Kirk recently had a solo show of his watercolour paintings at Concyse in Victoria, BC.
Cara Sheppard is a graphic designer and illustrator with an aesthetic straddling innocent and sexy, cute and slightly gritty. Inspired by mid-century pin-up art, modern fashion illustration and Japanese manga, Cara works nearly exclusively digitally. Some of her work has recently shown at Hangar 1018 in Los Angeles.
Together, Kirk and Cara created The Tattoo Colouring Book, published in 2005, and The Tattoo Colouring Book II, published in 2008. Both book are available here.
Here you will find an ever-expanding and rotating selection of original paintings, limited edition art prints, tattoo flash, books, badges, postcards and more, produced by Kirk and Cara, both together and individually.
